Edgy Haircuts On Black Female Celebs
Some of the fiercest badass modern black women have started wearing their hair in short edgier styles in recent years. Cuts that are a bit more avant-garde and wild, filled with multiple colors and a bit more attitude, have been making their way on the scene a lot more. You can see it in the way a number of famous black actress and music stars have been rocking their hairdos as of late.
Styles that have started dominating the limelight on some well-known black women have ranged from pompadours, spiked cuts, bright colors, shaved, and a whole slew of other styles. These edgy short cuts are bold, brazen, and not for everyone to be able to pull off. It's good to remember that just because your favorite celeb is rocking a certain cut, doesn't mean that you have the kind of command that they do to pull it off. There is literally no hair left for you to hide yourself behind, and that's something that shouldn't be forgotten for those of us that enjoy some anonymity from time to time.
It's not just black women that have been sporting these edgier trends, because it's been all over the board. Women of all races have been sporting edgy hair styles, and veering away from some of the more traditional looks associated with femininity. Having shorter hair does tend to require a good deal more maintenance though, and that's something not to be forgotten if you have a busy schedule, and no time to ever hit the salon. We're not trying to steer you away from it. By all means, go and get that Angela Bassett style cut, or rock your do like Vanessa Williams. Just keep in mind that you'll have to see your stylist a lot sooner than you're used to if you want to keep your hair looking as good as when it was cut.
Another thing to keep in mind, is whether you have ever sported short hair before. If so, how did it look? How did it make you feel? Were you more confident with more of your dazzling face showing, or did it make you feel too seen? It can be a drastic switch if you've never cut your hair short before, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try it. There are plenty of women that talk about how freeing it was, once they got more used to it. Like any big changes, it may be a shock at first, but give it a little time to set in.
If you do get a short haircut, and end up in a state of total dismay over it, then there are some options to keep in mind. There are always extensions you can have put in, wear a wig, or get a weave, until your hair grows back. In fact, before you ever get your haircut, you should try rocking a short wig just to see how it looks and feels. With modern software and tech where it is today, there are even computer programs that will generate a look for you, so that you can see it ahead of time. Just a few steps you can take, in case that jump to short hair might be more abrasive for you than you want.
Check out some of the celebrity haircuts that you really admire, and then see about getting a wig styled to match the one you like the most. In no time, you'll be able to see if you should be sporting that same hairdo for the public to ogle over.
